Volcano

Aim: To make a volcano that is similar to a real life volcano and make it erupt with elephant toothpaste.
Equipment
750 ml bottle
Paper
Scissors
Glue
Food Colouring
Dish washing Liquid
Method
1. Stick a 750 ml bottle in the middle of the volcano.
2. Scrunch Pieces of paper around the water bottle.
3. Put glue on strips of paper and stick it around the scrunched pieces of paper.
4. After it is all layered you have to paint it over in the colour of your volcano.
Results
Our volcano turned out really good but we could have added more red food colouring and less yellow to make the elephant toothpaste look like lava.
Discussion:
How do volcanoes form?
Volcanoes form when one tectonic plate moves underneath the other, when enough magma builds up it forces its way to the surface and erupts.
Lava vs Magma?
Magma is molten rock underneath the surface and Lava is molten rock that it above the surface.
Conclusion:
Even though we started pretty late everything turned out good and I probably wouldn't change anything apart from adding more strips of paper onto the volcano.

What are 3 bad things/consequences of climate change?
1. Increased Heat
2.Rising sea levels
3.Melting glaciers
Whats a possible solution?
The most possible solution is to change our main energy sources to clean and renewable energy and this will stop the need to use fossil fuels.
What is the Paris agreement?
The Paris agreement is an international treaty on climate change that was made in 2015. Its goal is to reduce global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius

Eclipse

How does a solar and lunar eclipse happen eclipse happen?
A solar eclipse happens when the moon blocks the sunlight during the day and a lunar eclipse happens when the earth blocks the the sun from the moon at night.
What would we see in a solar and lunar eclipse?
For a lunar eclipse a full moon will fade away because earths shadow covers it up, the moon can also look a bit reddish. For a solar eclipse the sun would be completely hidden as the moon covers the sun for around 15 minutes.
Last one?
For solar eclipses the last one happened in 1965 unfortunately for New Zealand the path of the eclipse doesn't quite cross our path. For the lunar eclipse the last one that happened was in January 2019.
Next one?
The next solar eclipse for New Zealand will be in 2454 days on Saturday 07/22/2028. The next lunar eclipse in New Zealand will be in 8th of November in 2022.
